Baby Bjorn Potty and boys???

Hey ladies. About 3 months ago we bought the Baby Bjorn potty chair to keep in the bathroom that we bathe Mikey in since many times when I'm getting his bath water ready DH will bring him in and I'd rather him not sit there and pee on me while we wait for the water to be just right. So we sit him on the potty and if he goes GREAT. Well surprisingly once he figured out how funny it is to pee in the potty he does it every time I sit him on it which is great. Problem is I can't seem to sit him correctly and sometimes he'll pee out of the potty which is NO fun.

If you have a boy and you have this potty chair do you have to sit them up close to the front or more towards the back? Just not sure how to prevent being splashed, or is this just gonna happen regardless with a boy??

  • I have a Boon potty and it came with a splash guard.  Did yours come with an attachable splash guard?

Yeah the splash guard is part of the potty. But it hardly keeps him from NOT splashing. Almost makes me wish I could just teach him how to pee in the potty standing! Tongue Tied

  • Cman only sat on the potty for a couple of days. I put cheerios in the potty and he has to shoot them lol
  • ds isn't potty training yet but he sits on dd's bjorn potties. she has the bigger upright with the piece that comes out to dump and the smaller one piece one.  with the smaller one he still sits more upright, like he's squatting down.  so no splash issue.  he hasn't used the other yet. he really hasn't used either much other than for sitting.

I friend has a boy a little older than Libby and this is the potty they have.  she hasn't complained, but we are not close, communicate through blogs now.  that's how I keep up with a lot of old friends.

    post what works!

  • We have the Bjorn potty and never had a splashing issue.  I just had DS sit back on the sit and tried to teach him to point his penis down so the pee would stay in the potty.
