Did you cut out dairy in your diet? I have heard of a few people doing this and wonder if I should. Also, I've heard congestion goes along with reflux. Is it usually more in the chest or nasal? My DS has congestion but it sounds like it is more in his chest. Does the congestion usually go away after a few days of meds? I'm still not completely sold that DS has reflux. but according to the pedi he does with all the symptoms I told her about. We just started Prevacid on Sat. and are doing half of a solutab per day. TIA!

Re: Questions for reflux moms
I did and it didn't help. Nothing helped his reflux, except the prevacid. Zantac didn't even help.
The prevacid started working immediately and then he was SO much better after a week. He started eating better 2 weeks or so later. Colin is one 1 tab a day (1/2 in morning, 1/2 at night).
Yes, Colin was always congested, but it was mostly nasal. It went away when he turned 3 months, but that is also when we started the reflux meds (Zantac then Prevacid).
And Colin DEFINTELY has reflux. I think he had it from the minute he was born, but didn't show many symptoms until he turned 2 months.
I didn't cut out dairy. I did have to give up onions, broccoli, cabbage & raw garlic. Cooked is fine. I also had to give up peanut butter.?
I noticed an enormous difference in dd the day after we started the meds. Before the meds she had nasal congestion & tons of spitting up. ?
we are just starting prevacid too and my DS is also congested. I'm hoping that after a few days of this med the congestion goes away. We were on Axid and that just made him fussy.
