Rec your easel, please!

We want to get DS an easel for his bday.  I'm leaning towards a wooden one that can hold a paper roll at the top and has some sort of bins to store paint, etc in.  I've seen ones for $50 and ones for $150.

Please rec your easel and/or what you like/dislike about it.  Thanks! :)

Re: Rec your easel, please!

  • We have the IKEA one and it is great  - very sturdy, paper roll holder, dry erase board on one side and chalkboard on the other, tray at the bottom for supplies. It was $25.

  • We have the IKEA Mala easel.  It was $24 and has chalk board on one side, dry erase on the other side and a roll of paper.  The only think I don't like about it is that the tray doesn't swivel so it is only on the dry erase side, but at $24 for a wooden easel I'm not complaining too loudly :)

  • I wanted the Ikea one, but FIL got a Rose art fold up one instead.   I don't really like it, it has no place to put stuff really and the roll is too small to find replacements easily.  It is nice that it folds up and I can put it in a bag in DD's closet though, but we mostly leave it out.
  • We also have the ikea one.  It seems good.  DD loves it!  I like that they sell the paper rolls for only $5!
  • Luc has the Doug & Melissa easel which I got on sale from Amazon.com for about 50% off before xmas.  Its well made, looks nice & the quality of the chalk & whiteboard are great.
