2nd Trimester

biodegradable diapers anyone?

My husband saw these "Nature Babycare" diapers at BRU & says their biodegradable & he wants to use them. My first thought was they are going to cost more but they seem to be the same as Pampers. We care about the earth and all but aren't a "go green" family.

Do you plan on using a diaper like those or have you used them before 2nd time moms? What do you think about them? Are they worth it?

  • I'm gonna butt in from 1st tri.  We plan on using these and the wipes, too.  We are a "go green" family, though.

Here is a link to a bunch of information/reviews on them:

  • I'm considering them. Thing is, if you flush them, you risk ruining your pipes. And if you dispose of them in the trash, you need to make sure the BAG is biodegradable too.
  • They cost the same, but you have to go to BRU  or someplace like that to get them.  I looked at our Target and Walmart and they don't carry them.  So, it wouldn't be convenient for us to use them if we have to drive 45 minutes to buy them.

  • I initially thought of using biodegradable diapers but decided to go with cloth instead.

  • In order to biodegrade, they need air. ?They don't get that in a landfill, so there really isn't such thing (unless you compost g-diapers, but not the poopy ones).

  • I'm registered for them. I try to be as green as possible. I would just assume buy them online if you can't drive to get them...
