Hey all! Im so glad to find this side of the bump. Reading about all the other moms with their perfect pregnancies is depressing!
My water broke at 19 weeks and I stayed in the hospital on bedrest until I had my little girl at 29 weeks. She was 2lb 7 ounces and a little fighter. Now she is a beautiful little 5 pounder. She is still in the NICU (ugh) but we are hoping for discharge a few weeks after her original due date of Feb 16th. That will make 3 whole months in the NICU. Poor baby. But for not having hardly any lungs and a very poor prognosis she has come miles!
Just thought I would share my little story. Thanks!

Congrats on your little cutie! I had 29 weekers as well. My kiddos were 3lbs 1oz(both the girls) and 2lbs 15oz.
Welcoming you with a (hug)! So glad your daughter is pulling through. They can be such amazing fighters, can't they?!
My water broke at 21 1/2 weeks on our twin son. I lost almost all of his fluid and had just barely enough to keep him alive. I was on strict bedrest and lasted 6 weeks. At 27 1/2 weeks our twins - boy & girl - were born. (2lbs 2ozs and 2lbs 4ozs, vag birth and c-section) Unfortunately Nathan was only with us for 8 days. His lungs were awful - almost non existant. Thankfully Aubrey has pulled through with only a couple problems (she had a grade 4 brain bleed and had to have a shunt placed). She was in the NICU for exactly 3 months - she broke out on her 3 month birthday! We now have therapy visiting our house every weekday morning to work with her and she's doing AMAZING! We were told she was at risk for CP and that her motor skills could be slow. Well, so far, so good - she's mostly on pace for her ACTUAL age, not just her adjusted age. I think she's going to be a smart cookie for all that she's been through. We still deal with some typical preemie problems, like reflux and feeding problems, but we've learned to accept the challenges put in front of us and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I hope you can remain strong and continue to be your daughter's biggest cheerleader. She's truly a miracle and a gift. You will find yourself thinking that you are even more grateful of a parent because of all that you have been through. Congrats on your special little girl!
Welcome! My son is a 27 weeker. My water broke at 21 weeks. I never went into labor like they thought I would, just had to deliver him due to too many decells (sp?).
I totally understand the lung issues. My son was in the NICU for 14 weeks (3 months, 1 week). He came home 10 days after his due date. It felt like an eternity. Hang in there! She'll be home before you know it.
