wow, just wow. that's insane.

it does remind me of my neighbor who was considering (they haven't done it yet) getting something of that nature so that they could come to our house at night after their toddler went to sleep instead of always putting them to sleep at our house. they have an alarm system and would be within a 30 second run of their house, but DH and i both had the immediate "yeah, i dont think i'm okay with that" reaction. i find that much less appalling than running errands while the kid sleeps though. seriously what is there to do that's a naptime emergency and you couldn't just bring the baby with you to do before or after the nap?

I would never leave any of my children in the house alone.  Not even to go to the neighbors.  I am so against it

Yeah, sadly, I think people do that all the time. We get to hear about it on the news maybe 6 times a year when their house catches on fire and their babies burn to death, often because they've combined this brilliant idea with another one such as leaving the stove or oven on for heat, or the Christmas tree lights. Fantastic idea.
