Question for my SIL

SIL is on positive pregnancy test # 3, first two resulted in miscarrige.  She has been going through this for alomost two years, some of you can relate.  Anyhow, this morning she asked me if I recall having "cramping" in the very begining..honestly at this point my pregnancy I am lucky if I can remember what happened last week.  I told her that every one is different, so who really knows.  She does post on a board, not the bump...but she says the girls do not really have any good answers, ever.  She recalls having this the first 2 times, but well you know the outcome of those pregnancies. 

Bottom line is...do any of you recall cramping?

I cramped for the first 8 weeks or so. I still have occasional cramping now. I hope everything goes well!

Yep, kept feeling like AF would come... it never did. For me it was a light menstrual cramp- type feeling.

I also had mild cramping, which felt like AF was coming. It lasted from before my BFP until about week 8.

Yep - I went through this for about the first 10 weeks.  It made me keep thinking that I was just dreaming about the pink line on that test... even after I saw the baby for the first time I was sure AF was on her way.  I'd tell her to call her Dr. just to be safe given her history, but it's probably nothing.

I had cramping and twinges through week 12 and even some brown spotting. Everything is fine with this baby so far.

Yup!  I didn't with my first pregnancy and that ended in MC.  I had them this time and all is well.  I am sure it will be tough for her not to worry or think something is wrong, but it sounds quite normal.  If it's just cramps and no bleeding or pain, should be ok.  Good luck to her.

I was cramping pretty bad between 6-8 weeks... I called the nurse line twice and they said as long as there was no blood I was fine and that Tylenol should help the pain. They were right.  But this is my first, and if she's had 2 miscarriages already, I would be calling the doc for ANYTHING.

I had AF like cramps for the first 7 weeks or so.

Wanted to add that you should tell your SIL about the Success After a Loss (SAL) board on here. It's a great board for all of us who have had one or more m/c before getting pregnant again.

Yes...I had cramps for the entire first trimester.  They were much stronger than any cramps I ever had with AF and would come and go intermittently.

I had cramping too!  I remember being really worried about it even though my doctor said it was normal.

My dr. told me cramping is ok as long as there's no bleeding (spotting a tiny bit doesn't count as bleeding). Hope that helps. GL to her!
