We haven't registered yet and I always assumed we'd register at Target (and BRU), but now I'm wondering about Walmart....have any of you registered at Walmart instead of Target? I'm thinking if they're less expensive, why not register for necessities there....and I did see some cute things there. Anyone know how their return policy compares w/ Target for baby stuff? Thanks for the input!
Re: Target vs. Walmart
I think that if you are going to register (which is basically telling people what you want) you should go where you think your friends/family would shop. I might make them more inclined to buy off your registry if there are already going to be here, than say make a special trip to BRU.
I think Walmart has a very linent(sp?) return policy?
I'm not sure about the return policy, but I do know that Walmart is more accessable to people in my family. We only have a few target stores in my area.
BRU only does returns/exchanges w/a receipt! Meaning, if someone buys you something and you don't have an original or gift receipt, they won't give you store credit. They won't take it at all. I think that sucks.
I like target better, it seems that walmarts quality has gone way down (at least in my neck of the woods) The only thing that I will buy for baby at walmart is diapers and wipes, and a few gerber onesies!
just register at both - that way you'll get more discounts and coupons... register anywhere YOU might shop for baby- b/c they'll start sending you stuff. You can tell family/friends just one place if you think it's easier for them.
i'm registered at Target, Walmart and BRU - and i probably am not even having a shower- i just did it so i have a list of what i still need, and to get the discounts, coupons, etc.
Nothing wrong with Walmart. I haven't registered yet, but it may very well be a place I'll pick. You want to be registered at places your family/friends shop, like pp said.
Target's return policy sucks. You have to have a receipt, and they get their panties in a wad if you don't have a good enough reason to bring the item back. Walmart, on the other hand, is a breeze. No receipt needed, and they take it back no matter what your reason is.
Walmart gets my vote based on that. Plus it is less expensive, and if people are concerned about getting quality items, well, most of the baby stuff that is sold in stores comes from China anyway, from BRU to Walmart. It's just how it is.
Good idea...thanks for the advice, I think we might just do that!
I second this. Target return policy is beyond terrible. I stopped shopping there for this reason alone. If someone gets you something off of your registry but doesn't mark it off, you still can't return it.
I would go for Walmart since they have some of the same EXACT things that Target does and you can return everything with no problems.
i say target, simply because i cannot stand walmart
If you receive an item from your registry and you want to return it to Target, and don't have a receipt for it, you can print out the Gift Purchase Log that is accessed throught you registry log in. That works like an alternate receipt. It is found on the kiosks at the store.
