DH's grandmother had a stroke last night. :(

DH's mom called at 11 last night to tell us that his Gma is in ICU at the hospital. She had a stroke shortly after the game last night. We haven't heard anything else.

DH is so upset. This is the grandmother that was horribly mean to him, made him feel guilty at every turn, blamed me for never letting him see his family (which is totally not true) and called him 'pussywhipped' while BIL & SIL were at her house on Christmas. He feels so guilty for not going to her house on Christmas and for not calling her. I'm not sad about her being sick (not that I'm a total robot, I feel bad as in it's sad that she's a human and she's sick), but I'm so sad for him and the weight this has put on him. His relationship is strained with that side of the family anyway. I can just see us going to the hospital and his uncles trying to give him crap about finally coming to see her. Sigh.

  • ..you should remind him..that she chose to be mean and push him away.  That he was only reacting to her ill choses to treat him poorly.  He shouldn't feel guilty for not seeing her.
  • sorry to hear that. I agree with widget...she created the rift in their relationship. ?what an awful situation for your DH. ?:(
