strollers help!

Hi, I'm getting a little stressed out about strollers. One of my pregnant friends registered for the Bugaboo $799.00 which of course I can't afford. My other pregnant friend registered for 3 strollers, jogging stroller, Maclearn stroller, and the Graco snap and go stroller.

My question is what or how many strollers should I register for? I dont want a heavy bulky stroller. What strollers do you recommend and are registering for? Why!

Re: strollers help!

  • Um ya, No $800 Bugaboo stroller for me!  We will be registering for a travel system.  But if you don't want a bulky stroller that's probably not your best option.  We wil also be resgietering for a general umbrella stroller too.  Lighter and easier to bring with us.

  • Two at the most. One everyday one, and one jogging one, if you plan on going for nature walks. The snap and go styles are the best, because they work with your infant seats, and fold up easily. The one I have even comes with a strap, so I can throw it across my shoulder when not in use. IMO.
  • I only registered for one. Just research, decide what your needs are and what is most handy for you then register for what you need.
  • I think a lot of it depends on the parents and lifestyle.  We plan to get 2.  1)  A Bob jogging stroller (which many use as an everyday stroller).  You can purchase an additional piece that allows you to snap the carseat into it (just like you would do with a snap and go).  2) A Maclaren umbrella stroller for when the baby its a little older and we'd like something more compact and lightweight.

     Hope this helps!

  • The stroller I have was NOT my 1st choice, but I have absolutely fallen in love with it! I keep reading posts on here about how bulky travel systems are, but I got the Peg Perego Pliko 3 with the Peg Perego Primo Viaggo Carseat, which work together as a travel system. The stroller is very versatile and has an aluminum frame (so it's lightweight, but durable) and the best part is it folds up like an umbrella stroller for super easy transport and storage! I found my stroller on sale at Marshall's for $140 and am getting my carseat (brand new) on ebay for $160. The stroller is regular $339 and the carseat $275, but if you look around you can find some deals. Mine is from last season, but both pieces are brand new- so who cares?

  • I love my Maclaren Techno XT.  It's so light and easy to manuver, plus it fits in small places with no trouble.  We never used a convertible system with DS so we didn't need a snap on.  I borrowed a jog stroler from a friend who didn't need hers anymore, but it was too big so I gave it back after a few weeks.  I actuallyl oved the stroller but we live in an apartment and drive a small car so it was hard to store and transport it.
  • Pick up a Baby Bargains book. ?They go through all of the options--umbrella, jogging, travel, etc.--and rate makes and models. ?They are honest about when you need various pieces of equipment (most jogging strollers can't be used until DC is 6 months). ?Love that book. ?Don't buy anything without consulting it first!

We are doing the same combo. BOB revolution and Maclaren Quest.

  • Here's a question...I thought you couldn't use a jogger with a newborn?  I really want one because I was a big fan of running/jogging before I got pregnant but someone told me not to bother until het baby was at least 6 months...

  • don't forget to check out craigslist... lots of strollers on there that have been gently used and still have plently of use left to them for lots less money!
