Why do I google? (low amniotic fluid)

At my big u/s, the tech said I have slightly low amniotic fluid, the level was 9.  They didn't seem too concerned, I was told that the amniotic fluid is replaced every 3 days and to drink as much water as I can stand.  It was probably caused by the flu I had a week before.  So I wasn't overly worried, but I decided to google it and that was a big mistake.  There are all kinds of complications that I wish I hadn't read about.  I know if my doc isn't worried, I shouldn't be, but I tell ya, I am downing the water like a drought is coming now!

  • I read that the amniotic fluid was replaced every three hours, not days.

Hope all stays well with your babe - guzzle that water!

  • LOL Great! Now I'm all paranoid about drinking water! Guess it never hurts to drink more right?!?!?
  • its called oligohydramnios
  • I've been very dehydrated for over a week now and I have to say I am very worried about complications as well.  But when I go to the ER to ask for an IV to get my fluids up they won't do it.  So like you, I'm trying to drink as much water as I can with the hope that my orange pee will turn clear one of these days. Eat some jello - it can help too.
