I have also had horrible rib pain for the last couple weeks, right at the base of my rib cage - I figured there was just no room left in there for baby but let me know if you find out what it is!
Maybe Dillon is big and he is already! Lets hope not though because it really sucks when your ribs hurt. I couldn't even eat at the regular table i had to hold my food up when I started getting that pain w/my daughter!
There are some really great massage techniques to help get the baby out of there!! I tried googling for some links for ya, but came up empty.
I know the basic is to lay on your side with one hand above your head and massage in a downward motion slighly putting pressure where the baby is and they will move.
i was feeling some crampy/achey ribs last night big time. but i feel like i have been hitting "milestones"/having symptoms 2-3 weeks earlier than everything says...of course, though, the baby is still right on time.

Hell NO!! My rib pain started in my 2nd month - I *think* i have a really tiny rib cage & with all the extra water pushin my organs up - it's been killing m ever since...Everyone is different....my rib pain was soo bad that I had u/s on my gallbladder b/c they thought it was that.....it's not the baby being jammed up there - it's the extra water & organs being moved up there... BELIEVE ME - i feel your pain & have been for 4 months...I actually think our lil lady is going to break my rib..
I would say it depends on your frame. I know when I was about 26 weeks with DS there was no room whatsoever. If you have a short torso, I think it could start earlier.
i started with the rib pain about 2 weeks ago. mine is worse on my right side and gets aggravated when i sit for long periods...it's horrible if i eat a lot and then sit. it runs into my back along my bra line. i am going to ask my doc about it at my appt this week
My SIL has been having this prob.. I think for a long time (shes due in May) and she said it hasnt gotten better just a small upper torso they said.
BF had this problem early on also. And she swore up and down he broke her Rib but the Doc kept telling her it was just how he was laying.. Till this day she stills says it was broke. I would ask the Doc and see what they say, cant hurt to get it checked out.. GL
I've just started getting horrible rib pain (to the point where I want to cry) in the past couple of days. I have a ridiculously short torso though and she seems to only be growing up and out so I'm not surprised it is already bothering me. I plan to ask about it tomorrow at my appointment, at 19 weeks my uterus was already a good inch above my belly button so who knows where it is at now.
Re: So google tells me that rib pain...

Lies, google! Lies!
I'm guessing it's whatever causes back pain at 3 months. Relaxin perhaps?
