I had a US yesterday due to some spotting this past week. It was so amazing to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. Doc said the baby is doing great, but she did note a 3cm bleed in my uterus. She was not worried at all, just wanted me to lay off any exercise until I see my doc again on 2/10. Anybody else diagnosed with this? After looking on the internet I'm assuming this is a subchorionic hematoma.
Re: uterine bleed?
I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma also at week 5. They also refer to it as a clot, bleed,?subchorionic?hemmorage, etc. ?My doc warned me there may be more bleeding, spotting and even passing small clots. ?She said to only get worried if I have cramps with the bleeding and/or it becomes very heavy (soaking a regular pad in a hour or two).
I'm now at 12 weeks and have had constant brownish-red spotting since week 5. ?I had about three instances where the bleeding got a bit heavier with clots for a few hours and I had to switch from a pantiliner to a regular pad. ?Otherwise, I've had no problems. ?Subchorionic hematomas do increase a chance of m/c, but the majority of them resolve on their own. ?You end up passing the extra blood/clots and your body helps absorb the hematoma.
It's been stressful, but more I'm annoyed by having to wear a pantiliner all the time and worrying about bleeding through. ?Otherwise my doc and midwife say I'm doing great and baby is fine. ?Check in with you doc regularly and let them know how its going. ?They'll tell u whether you need to come in for more visits.?
