anyone over 7 weeks NOT had U/S???

My doctor scheduled my first U/S for feb. 23rd.... I would be at 10 weeks by then.  I called and asked for a sooner date.  Now it's on feb 16th, when I'll be 9 weeks.  It seems like everyone on this board gets frequent and/or much earlier ultrasounds.  Am I just crazy?  When did you all get your first U/S??  Why am I forced to wait so long?

I had my first u/s with Harpie at 8 weeks, 2 days.

This one will be at 7 weeks. ?I turned down a 5 week u/s so that I would be able to make sure we would see a good hb.

I know my OB likes to do them later to make sure he has a good feel for the measurement of the baby, the progress, & the heartbeat. ?Honestly, the later, the better in the first tri. ?IMO, at least.?

I got my ultrasound at 8 weeks 6 days, so I was almost 9 weeks as well.

Mine is on Monday, I'll be not quite 9 weeks.

i will not have one done until 18-20 weeks as is the case with a lot of girls on this board. obviously if there was a problem, i'd have one sooner, but if not  .  .  . i'll be waiting for a while.

Had I not had an unplanned ER visit, I wouldn't have had an u/s until 20 weeks. ?A lot of doctors don't do them early on unless there is a possible problem. ?Also, insurance often won't cover u/s if they aren't being used for a diagnosis of some kind.

my first one will be at 10 weeks, just due to my travel schedule.

With DD #1 I had one at 8 weeks, but that was due to spotting issues I had.  I had an internal ultrasound at 7 weeks 2 days this time, because I'm not quite sure the date of my LMP.  I measured a little smaller with this ultrasound so my doctor is scheduling another ultrasound for me at 10 weeks...to confirm my due date.  The only reason I've had these many ultrasounds is because of problems or due date issues...otherwise he would wait until 20 weeks like everyone else.

My first OB's policy was doing one at the first appt (around 12 weeks).  My second OB's policy was one around 18-20 weeks.  Unless there is a problem, I think a lot of doctors wait.  There isn't that much to see early on.

I'll be 9 weeks and some change when I go in on Wednesday for my first visit. I plan on calling Monday to see if they even plan on doing an U/S.  Crossing my fingers...

I just had mine and i'm 8wks. and the only reason they scheduled it was cuz i'm high risk. my insurance which is tricare and should cover it. doesnt, unless its medically necessary. so, no worries love. nine weeks is good. i know your impatient. i was too.=]

but its better at nine or ten wks they're a lit bit bigger and you can acutally tell its a baby! ours looked like a gummybear and didnt even want to move hahaha. but its chill you'll see your lil bean soon

13 weeks and counting.... and we will get ours at 20w.  I do not want one sooner... so yeah.....

My first one would have been at 9w6d, but I had 2 weeks of spotting so we got one at 7 weeks.

I was 10 weeks 6 days when I had my first ultrasound. I won't have another one till my big one at around 20 weeks. I've heard the heartbeat twice recently.

My first u/s with #1 was at 10 weeks. 6 weeks with #2. Honestly, while I know u/s are so hard to wait for and they make moms feel better once they see the baby, they are honestly worth the wait. The further along you are, the more you can see!

My 6 week u/s was so unexciting compared to my 10 week one. Just a few weeks can make such a big difference.

And, anyway, by now you know that some women only have one u/s and it's not until halfway through the pregnancy.

I had one simply because of spotting.

I have tricare and they don't pay for things that are not 100% needed.  And even then they are very picky. 

The fact that you're scheduled for one sooner than 20ish weeks is night.  And as some of the PP said it's better when you wait a little bit to get them because then you can see something, including the hearbeat which is just amazing to see and hear!

I had mine at 9 weeks exactly, I'm having another at 13 weeks only because I had a ginormous cyst on my ovary (surprise!) at my first, and my OB wants to look at it again.

I didn't get my first until 12 wks.

I will have my NT scan next week at 11w4d that will be my first peek at the baby. After that the only other one I will have is my 20 week.

Be patient. I didn't have my first one until about 19 weeks and it is the only one I will get unless I encounter complications. It's my OB's office policy AND my insurance only covers 1 u/s unless medically necessary. All of you who are getting alot of u/s better check with your insurance. Some girls have gotten "surprise" bills bc they didn't realize their insurance limits (of cours if there is a medical reason for extra u/s you shouldn't have a problem). Just wanted to pass that on.

I had my first one at 5 weeks (only saw gestational sac), my second at 5 weeks 6 days (saw hb but was only 101 which is normal early on), and the third at 7 weeks 4 days (hb 160) all because of spotting. I won't have one now until 20 weeks. If I didn't have bad spotting for 5 days straight I wouldn't have had an ultrasound till 12 weeks.

I won't have another until 18 weeks.

I have a friend who didn't have any until 17 weeks...and that's when she discovered she was having twin boys...

My first appt. is this Mon. when we'll use the doppler and the first u/s is Friday- 13 weeks.  I am sure it will be worth the wait.  Yep.... it is a long wait, but I have been thankful I haven't needed one sooner.

My first appointment (with u/s) is scheduled for 3/10, and I'll be about 10 weeks. ?They like to wait that long so thay have more to look at & see. ?:-)

I am almost 11 weeks and have not had an ultrasound. I have an appt on 2/10, so hopefully we'll get an u/s then. My last dr.'s appt was on 12/30, so it seems like forever since I've been to the doctor.

You're just crazy. Most people have their 1st u/s around 10-12 weeks. Some have to wait until 20 weeks. Calm down.

I didn't get the doppler or an u/s at my first appt (7 weeks), and wont have my u/s until week 11.  I know that high risk pregnancies get more frequent u/s.  If the OB doesn't feel the need for more frequent u/s, then you are probably fine!

I haven't had one yet. My first appt with my Dr. was just routine basically and she sent me for blood work and a urine test and then she told me to come back in a month and we would go from there. Of course if I had any other issues or concern/problems she told me to come in sooner, but as of right now my next appt is scheduled for Feb 23rd and I'll probably get an ultrasound after that. I will be 10 weeks at my next appt.
