Does anyone else have braces?

I just got the wire changed/tightened yesterday and now my teeth hurt so f*cking bad! Usually the only thing that helps is Aleve, and I can't take that. Tylenol doesn't do sh*t.

I just had to complain for a minute.

Guess I'm off to the store to buy mashed potatoes and apple sauce...

I used to, in high school, and I remember the pain you are talking about. I miss my braces, though. I think they looked so cool, and I loved getting all different coloured elastics when I went in.  Yes, I'm a nerd.

hehe.. thankfully, they've come a long way since then. Mine are "clear." But it hurts as bad now as it did then.

Ladies, tell your children to wear their retainers!

I don't now, but I did in middle school.  They can be incredibly painful at times.  Mashed potatoes and applesauce are probably good ideas.  GL!

I'm a two time braces wearer too!  And I couldn't agree more...tell those kids to keep their retainers for life.  It's not so fun when you have to pay for braces yourself when you're older.

Sorry you're not feeling so great.  Hopefully the pain subsides quickly!

I have braces right now as well.  I get my last four brackets put on in a couple of weeks and I am dreading it (since this will be my first visit after finding out about our baby).  I am an avid advil (that's a tongue twister) taker with my braces but I can't take that and like you, tylenol does nothing for me!  I will be joining you in partaking in mashed potatoes and applesauce!  SPOONS UP!

That's exactly what I just had done - the last 4 brackets on the back teeth. Good luck! Spoons up indeed! I'm getting ice cream, too. :P
