Getting crayon out of a rug? Suggestions?

I thought DS was driving a car around on the rug apparently he had an orange crayon!  It is one of the kids rugs with roads and train tracks on it, indoor/outdoor type material.

I am impressed with how well he followed the road, but I am not going to tell him that!

  • Crayola.com has TONS of info on removing crayon.

  • My DD recently drew with purple crayon on our beige rug. I put a little dish soap on a wet paper towel, and it took it right out. Then I went over it again with a plain wet towel and we were good to go.
  • Loading the player...
  • It should come out with soap and water.  If not, you can put an old towel over it and then put a hot iron on top of the towel.  The crayon should melt into the towel and come out of the rug.
  • Baby wipes! DS did something similar on his rug and I used a baby wipe and it came right up!
