Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Another question...Wipe Warmer...will I really use it?

I have two Lionheart Wipe Warmers...was going to keep one downstairs and upstairs.  If you have wipe warmer -- do you love it/hate it?

What's the deal with the "replacement pillow"?

Re: Another question...Wipe Warmer...will I really use it?

  • We have one, and no we don't use it.

I think they are a breeding ground for bacteria.

The replacement pillow helps keep the wipes from drying out and turning brown.

  • From what I've heard, if you use it, your DC will get used to it and need it -- otherwise, you'll never miss it.  After a few people told me this, I decided not to use one, out of worry that DD would get upset when I tried to change her with cold wipes when we weren't at home.  No idea if there is any truth in this...others may be able to give you more insight.

  • when i nannied, the family had one and we always hated it. By the time we got the wipe to the babys bottom, it was cold. So it defeated the purpose of having one. JMO

  • i thought that they were such a joke but grandma thought it was cruel to wipe dd with such cold wipes - so she bought two for us and one for her house.  We have 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and use them all the time.  The replacement pillow you wet and it helps keep the wipes moist.  I think it says you should replace it every three months. I think dd loves it - she doesn't cry or fuss like she used to when getting her diaper changed.
  • I don't have the lionheart one, but mine dries out the top wipe, so I waste a wipe everytime I change a diaper.  I just use it to hold wipes, but I probably won't use it for too long.  DD isn't that sensitive to cold wipes - she doesn't seem to care when we are out.  I'd get rid of at least one of them.
  • I personally think they are dumb.. Cause like someone said when you are out and about and you use cold wipes they will freak out.. Don't spoil the baby with warm wipes or you may regret it :)
  • No! I always heard they were a huge fire hazard....

An excellent point -- I'm an infectious disease biologist by trade, and just the thought of those things made me say ewww.

  • i have one - unused

    - i use cloth

    - waste of electricity

  • I also have two, one up and one down and we love them.  We use them for every diaper change and no we havne't had a problem using a regular wipe when out.

The replacement pillows need to replaced every 3 months and you can get them at BRU it is what keeps the wipes warm/moist.  You also have to rinse and re-wet the pillow bi-weekly.

  • Total waste of money.  I would return both.
  • I did have a few weeks in the beginning when I would've loved one because ds cried every time I used wipes.  Then he got used to cold wipes, so it's no longer a problem.  I'd say no, unless you get it as a gift.
