My husband and I both love Scott. It's his middle name and we've already been calling our baby that for months. ?I feel like it's maybe too casual and read that Scott was originally from Prescott. ?I really like Prescott. ?What do you ladies think? ?Cute or too stuffy?
Re: Prescott or plain old Scott?
I personally like just Scott. I had kind of this problem when naming DS. I like the name "Leo" (and we were naming him after his great grandpa Leo), but I felt like it was too short. I came really close to naming him Leonard just so he could have a more formal name, even though I really don't like Leonard. We ended up just going with Leo, and I'm glad that we did.
I like Scott. It doesn't need a "formal" name, in my opinion. It's not like you're naming him Mikey or Tommy.
As a side note, there's town in AZ called Prescott but it's pronounced "Preskit" so Scott doesn't seem like a NN for Prescott to me.
