Told my family!

We told my family the big news this past week-end. ?My sisters immediately started tearing up and father grinned ear to ear. ?My step-mother on the other hand...irritated me. ?She said that she couldn't believe I was just telling her and that I should have called her within the first month of finding out. ?I was so annoyed. ?I didn't even call my biological mother and tell her until I was 12 weeks! ?My step-mother and I have an ok relationship but none where she would be one of the first people I called to say I was pregnant. ?I mean she really got upset. ?After a few minutes she got over it, gave me a hug and said congratulations. ?I understand she wanted to know but even if she was upset that was not the time to "rain on my parade!" Some people.

oh god! im sorry!  she was just dissapointed, im sure, that you waited.  she just stuck her foot in her mouth, im sure she feels bad...but congrats! im sure you feel better after telling everyone!!

Some people really think of your pregnancy in their terms only - it's selfish but true.  And very strange...sorry you had to deal with that.

awww she probably just would have loved to know earlier to be happy for you.  When I told my boss he commented on why I didn't tell him sooner.  Not in a mean way, just a "that's so cool, it wouldhave been fun to know sooner".

I dread telling my step mom and my MIL...cant wait to tell our dads and favorite aunts...cousins and the rest of our friends and family....WOMEN I TELL YA....haha!

Sounds like another parent who thinks your pregnancy is all about them.  It seems like we have a run on those today.  I'm sorry if she made your announcement any less joyful and exciting.
