NBR: Refi advice

So after much discussion and procrastinating me and DH have decided to refinance.  We were going to go at it alone but have realized we don?t really know what we are doing.  I know that rates are on the rise again so we need to act soon.  Does anybody have any recommendations on a broker and/ or the steps we need to do.  Our original idea was to go through BECU but not sure if they are going to offer the lowest rate.  Me and DH both have great credit and I?m still working full-time so we feel this is the best time to do it. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Re: NBR: Refi advice

  • I love my broker. I've done 2 loans with her and my aunt's been using her for years.

I'd love to lower my rate to under 5% but there's no way we'll get the appraisal we need.  Funny how 5.5% doesn't seem that great when 4.6% can be had! I need to learn to be grateful for what I have. :)

  • I'd check out all the referrals you get here and see what their current rates are.  Rates will differ based on what lender you're speaking to, so it makes sense to shop around.

Don't forget to compare the closing costs.

I've worked with Fern at www.fernacity.com before.  I've known her for years, and she's a great person as well as excellent at what she does.

Let her know that Jamie sent you, she'll help you out all she can.

    Good luck.
