I hate reflux and I hate insurance!!

Well, this is just the news I need right now.  Insurance won't cover S's Neocate.  It is 46.00 a can and the cans are freaking small.  I am going to call and argue with them tomorrow.  I have a Rx and everything I just assumed they would cover it, but nope!!

I HATE REFLUX, I HATE INSURANCE, I HATE REFLUX, I HATE INSURANCE......

  • What a pain! How are your little guys feeling?

Thanks for asking. Ethan seems to be up and down.  He seems happy as can be, then really fussy and congested.  His nose seemed better today, but still has the cough and his little eyes are so red and puffy.

Luckily, Shawn still has not yet started with the cough, hoping he doesn't get full blown RSV, but really, not sure how we would avoid that one.

He has refused EVERY freaking bottle today, it has been rough and I am tired of fighting him.  I was hoping we were over the hump, but am now wondering if the last few weeks were just a fluke and we are back to square one.

Who knows maybe it is just because he has a cold.

  • My guys had RSV around Thanksgiving it was horrible and then they gave it to us and by the time they got better we gave them another cold.  Are they on a nebulizer?  Our doctor gave us one but Max wouldn't do it and so they gave us a liquid form.  I hope everyone feels better soon.

  • We were warned by our GI's that this might happen to us too.  They said to call them and let them know so they can directly appeal to the insurance company on our behalf.  Also, some states have laws that say if the Dr prescribes a formula for an infant the insurance co has to pay for it.  That's now the case in Maryland only recently.  Keep fighting!
  • OH NO!!! I would die if insurance didn't cover our Neocate! Have you looked into WIC at all? They don't always go by income
  • I know that all cases are different, but FWIW, my ds's horrible reflux cleared up around 10m. ?I took him off of his meds & that was the end of it. ?My fingers are crossed that you're almost through w/it too! ?
