1000 calories a day is not enough- you will become worn down, tired, your immune system will wear down too and you will catch everything AND your metabolism will slow down too in order to store those scarce calories!!! Eat the right amount of calories and exercise!!!
I did WW very succesfully the other year - I ALWAYS lost more weight when I ate the maximum points I could. If i didn't eat them all, I gained or stayed flat that week. Every single time.

Yes. There is a calculator out there somewhere were you can put in your weight and tell how many calories you use based on your weight and activity level. I have heard that if you cut 1000 calories off of that, you will lose 2lbs per week.
I don't think 1000 calories is enough for most people. It is better to eat smaller meals more often. It keeps your body from storing fat due to thinking it is starving.
Aren't you on WW? Just follow the points system. It is healthy and you will know you are getting enough.

Up until 25 weeks pregnant or so with Maile, I couldn't eat more than 1000 calories in a day. I literally could not function at all. Until about 14 weeks, I could only eat maybe 200-300. It really messes with your body. It's not a healthy way to lose weight anyway.

couldn't agree more. When people with eating disorders continue habits for a long time, it ends up slowing their metabolism greatly. Then, when you eat your body hoards all of the calories making you gain weight faster. 1500 calories. Minimum if you are working out. Your body more than likely uses that many alone to sustain itself.
I ate to "survive" (only when really hungry) for a couple years in college...I lost over 60lbs & the only exercise I did was a lot of walking. Felt the best I ever have in my adult life. I kept it off for a few years until I got my boring desk job & re-took up eating as recreation. I was eating 1200cals for a couple months before I got pregnant again this time & was loosing weight every single day. I stopped counting cals/dieting when I got pg this time & just started gaining weight & I am almost 21wks. I don't think it does me all that much harm, certainly not as much as carrying around an extra 80lbs does to my body.

You are not starving yourself, but the lowest calorie level we recommend is 1200 or 1400. If you aren't, you might want to take a multivitamin to make sure you are getting your nutrients. GL!

WW wont work unless you eat all your points. It is designed for you to loss the maximum amount of weight by eating the amount of points for your weight. You might see short term sucess but it will not lead to long term success.
Re: Since it's on my mind so much this week...
I had approx. 1000 calories on Monday and today.
Yesterday I had about 1200 calories.
I am exercising!

7000 calorie reduction=2lbs of fat (each lb roughly equals 3500 calories)
This is on my mind a lot too...see siggy!
