a children's book that makes them cry? Ever since I read it, probably 15 years ago, The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein literally makes me cry. It is one of my favorite books and I definitely want to share it with my son, but I can't read it even now without getting teary. Does this book have this kind of effect on anyone else, or any other books?

Re: does anyone have...
I read the first line and immediately I thought of The Giving Tree!! lol!
#1 would definitely be The Giving Tree and #2 is Corduroy. I already have them both (and Where the Sidewalk Ends) for baby boy's library.

I read it at Target the first time I was away from my DS overnight, and I almost cried right there.
