reflux momma ? - when to transition to crib?

Our reflux babies still sleep in their bouncy seats but I was reading something about how they need to be able to roll and stretch and move in their sleep to help their development (not sure if this is true but I have a tendency to read way too much and believe everything I read).

When did you transition your reflux babies to sleeping in a crib instead of seat or angle?  Right now they are in the seats IN the crib... so I think they'll be ok as far as knowing where they are... but not so sure about how well they'll sleep if they're not being "cradled" by their seats since they're used to it.... did yours do well with the transition?  Did you go to a flat crib or did you use a wedge?  A little wedge or the full recommended 30 degrees?

Sorry for all the questions... just trying to figure out when and how to make the switch!  thanks!

Re: reflux momma ? - when to transition to crib?

  • You're so cute.

Brady slept in his bouncey seat next to our bed for 3 months (after he was home so he was 4 months old, 2 months adjusted). We started putting him in his crib, with an angled mattress of just a pillow under the top end. He STTN and we love it (since we deal with jax all night in our room).

He's swaddled in his crib, so I don't think he stretches anymore than he could in the seat :) I asked our ped on Monday (6 month checkup) if it was okay that they boys are swaddled. She laughed and said "you do whatever makes those babies sleep, swaddling is perfectly fine"....

    that's all I got :)?
