I know how...but most people are dumb. It will be mispronounced more than it's pronounced correctly.

My little sister is named Isla. I guess my family was way ahead of the baby naming curve because she's 20 now. Honestly in school the only time it was mispronounced was at the beginning of the school year when the teacher goes through the list of names. Every now and then she would have a teacher who got it wrong but she would just tell her how to pronounce it and that was the end of the problem. Think about it...how often is someone having to read your name and say it? Not very often. If you introduce yourself as "eye-lah" then that is how they will say it.

Sorry, this doesn't make any sense. If Isabelle was spelled Islabelle, then yes I would pronounce it eye-la-belle. Isabelle doesn't have an "L" after the s like Isla does...

I'd say "Eye-la" like Isla Fisher, the actress. Since she's becoming more well known, more people are apt to recognize it. ?When I first saw her name, I did wonder if it could be Iz-la though.?
