POLL what did your newborn wear in the hospital?

Did your newborn wear the plain white onesies that the hospital provided or did you bring clothes from home for the baby to wear?  [Poll]

Re: POLL what did your newborn wear in the hospital?

  • Jacob was born at 37 weeks at at 4lb 14oz he was too small for anything, so DH had to go shopping to buy preemie clothes for him!

  • I left DD in the hospital clothes, but I did bring a pretty hat for her!

  • My DS was a preemie and they kept him in just a diaper under warming lights for about a week...when he went into a little isolette, then we could wear a little shirt or sleeper.
  • in the hospital and NICU she wore what they provided, but we brought a special outfit for her to wear home.

  • Not only did we use the hospital ones,  but we stole extras and basically dressed him in them for the first 3 weeks. They were the perfect, soft, kimono style shirts.

  • I brought sleepers for dd to wear while in the hospital.  The nurses never buttoned them all the way.  They just left them kind of like gowns and then they swaddled her.  This time, I'm bringing several gowns for this baby to wear, but honestly it really doesn't matter what they wear.

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else did.

  • I wasn't sure how to answer, she wore the hospital gown thing for the first day, then had her first real bath, then I put her in a nightgown from home, we left the next day (in clothes from home).

  • Both kids wore the kimono white onesies in the hospital, but I did change them into cute clothes for the hospital photos and for going home (same outfit).
  • Our hospital requires that the babies wear the clothes they provide except for picture time until they're released.  Easier to keep track of which babies are "theirs" they say.  It never occurred to me to do anything differently.  My girls were also tiny.  Nothing fit DD#1 but I was ready with premie clothes for DD#2.
  • DD wore the kimono tops that the hospital provided and her diaper all swaddled up.  I brought a couple of things, but she didn't wear any of it until we went home from the hospital.
    DD #1 - 01.08
    DD #2 - 03.13
  • We brought a cute little outfit for him to wear home, it was too big for him, but it was still cute. He ended up coming home in the hospital clothes though anyway because he pooped ALL OVER his adorable outfit!
