I guess this could be a dumb question since wages can't really be cut since childcare workers aren't paid thay well to begin with but what about those that make a hefty profit? what if everyone starts pullin their kids out because they're unemployed?

Re: Do daycare centers ever reduce their prices?
Liam is 5!
I don't know about where you live, but I would never say that the centers in my area are making a 'hefty profit'.
most centers don't make a hefty profit, even with part-time kids. my son goes part-time, we pay slightly more for 2 days than we would pay for 2 days if he were there full-time but it really only accounts for few hundred bucks to the center.
our center has a co-op board, so parents sit in on budget meetings etc. with the economy in tough shape centers are loosing money when parents pull their kids out of care when they lose jobs. our center if freaking out about being able to pay the teachers.
I guess they would lay staff members off and have less rooms going. Our daycare does offer at 5% discount for paying the whole month in advance. They always offered this...nothing to with the economy.
