Has anyone had one done? Tell me it's nothing.
I'm nervous, but I think I am more nervous of what they might find. With all the recent cancer and deaths in my family DH is worried, too.
I have not been able to keep anything in me for a week and a half now. I don't know how they expect me to drink this stuff.
Re: NPR- Colonoscopy
I've had one - and honestly, it was nothing.
The prep was by far the worst part of it - the stuff I had to drink was disgusting and I nearly threw up trying to drink it all. And I had to give myself an enema a few hours before the procedure.
Once I got to the hospital it was easy though. They'll get your IV started, wheel you back into the room, roll you onto your side and give you the sedative through your IV. You don't feel a thing.
I woke up about an hour later, pretty dazed and confused. But no pain whatsoever. We went out for lunch as soon as they let us leave because I was starving, and I felt fine.
If they find something, they can take care of it before it gets bad. Just be optomistic!
Well, not to scare you but MIL had one recently and her doctor sucked - he poked through her intestines and she had a tremendous number of problems because of it. SHe's alright now but wasn't for a while.
I, however, had one about two years ago and was under the twilight sleep or whatever it's called. I never knew a thing happened to me. I was more out of it after than if I had general anesthesia. There's no recovery either - except for the sleepy needing to wear off.
That's what I had. Did you have the cherry flavor?
Maybe I just have a weak stomach, but I thought it was some of the most God-awful shiit that I've ever had to drink.
