bain pain -severe-

So..here's the back story...in college at a party one night, I fell rear first on a tile step and cracked my tailbone..Thought nothing more of it until I was in labor with Delaney and my rear hurt really really bad. The epidural didn't even touch it, so they came to add more medicine to it. They thought it was back labor until I informed them of my cracked tailbone and the nurses were like "yeah..that's the problem"..Thought nothing of it again until I started having the usual back pain that comes with pregnancy. Except that this time, it's SEVERE..and now it's settled into my tailbone, which is extremely uncomfortable. And it's not exactly an area that you can like rub while you're working..I eventually talked to the PT that works at my elementary school and he said that PT will help the symptoms - which I think is lovely..So then I called my OB nurse and got them to write me a prescription for PT.

But in the meantime, I'm miserable. I can't get the energy to do anything at all and I feel like such a slug. All I can do is take care of Delaney and that's hard being in this much pain.

Stupid party nearly ten years ago..Stupid beer...Stupid drunk boy I thought I could lean on and support myself so I didnt' fall...Stupid tile steps.....

Thanks for letting me vent :)

Re: bain pain -severe-

  • I broke my tailbone (well, cracked, like you I guess) while pushing.  I guess that once it happens, it can be very common.  I'm sorry!

  • What about acupuncture?  I hear it can be really effective for pain management?

  • I've actually lived with a TMJ pain condition for about twelve years. I only got pain free through a wonderful PT and pain mangagement therapy while I did the PT. Just around the time I met Zap I started living pain free again, but in those twelve years, I had multiple surgeries, etc and believe me, I tried everything. I did acupuncture for a while but I didn't have any relief. If this PT doesn't work though, I will totally resort to other methods. I feel non-functional. It sucks..

I'm coming in late here.  I guess I can't help with the tush pain, but I had PAINFUL TMJ that is now pain free with the help of a naturopathic chiropractor.  I even take Meg to see him for her sleeping issues...she now sleeps MUCH better.
