Pregnant after a Loss

Success after ectopic/ tube removal

Has any had a tube removed and then gotten pregnant.  How quickly did you get pregnant afterwards?  I'm ovulating again about 2 weeks after mine and the doctor told be to go jump DH and when I questioned that she had previously told me 6 weeks she took it back but said, "But if you do end up pregnant in the next 1-2 months...." so I don't know if it is safe or not to start trying again.

Also, how long did it take you to recover and the wounds to heal?  This was my first surgery, or even a cut deep enough to need stiches for that matter, so I'm curious and nervous.

Re: Success after ectopic/ tube removal

  • I got pregnant right after we were given the all clear to TTC again after my ectopic/lap surgery. Unfortunately, I m/c'd that pregnancy, but I don't think it was at all related to the ectopic (more like the PCOS that I'm struggling with right now.)

I think I was given the all clear for sex about two weeks after the surgery- I felt up to it, I wasn't bleeding anymore, and my dr said it was ok. I know the first week after I was pretty sore and didn't feel great, but by the second week, I felt much better. We had to TTA at first though, b/c my dr wanted me to have an HSG before letting us try again, just to make sure there weren't any blockages in my remaining tube. HTH!
