Hi All,
I'm new to this particular board and had some questions..My husband and I are going to start ttc in April..I'm 36, just went off the pill this month..have been taking prenatal vitamins since October..this was the advice of my gyno but the nurse/midwife on staff told me I could have just taken folic acid..but I'm still taking them anyways..
Is there anything else I need to know before TTC? I bought a pregnancy book and read that I may have to get MMR shot and a tetanus before even trying to have a baby..My gyno did not tell me this at all..I'm trying to be mindful of my diet and exercise..and limit alcohol..
I feel like they should have given me guidelines or something..any thoughts?
Re: TTC this year--probably April..
I agree with suggestions from previous posters. Great ways to start.
Also, if you haven't concieved by the end of 6 months, please consider seeing a specialist - a Reproductive Endocrinologist - to get baseline infertility testing.
If under 35, they recommend you try 1 year on your own. Once over 35, though, you only have to try 6 months before seeking assistance.
Good Luck!
