Frustrated with 30ds :-(

Well, more with myself. ?I've been kicking my butt working out, every day, even when I was sore. ?I can see a HUGE difference in my endurance and am about to move up to level 2.?

This morning, dh said, "Wow! ?You really look like you've lost some weight!" ?so I hopped on the scale after he left. ?I've GAINED 2 lbs! ?Ugh.?

I know this is my fault. ?I haven't worked out in FOREVER, so I just had it in my head that as soon as I started working out hard, the weight would come off easily. ? I was really hoping for a lb or 2 the first week :-( ?Maybe I'll do better in level 2. ?Sorry this was long and pointless, I just wanted to vent.?

  • Muscle weighs more than fat so you can loose fat and look better and still gain a bit.

    I would be very proud that you are working so hard and try not to make is so much about the number :-)

  • Thanks :-) ?That's why I've been keeping away from the scale. ?I hope I see a difference by the end of the 30 days! ?I'm going to track on Sparkpeople, too (I've been slacking on that) and see if that helps. ?Thanks again!

  • I'm the SAME way. We joined the gym and we've been working out literally almost every day (we've maybe missed 5 days this month total), and I was thrilled thinking I was losing weight because DH commented on it, and my clothes are looser. I get on the scale - NOPE. I'm up a couple of pounds. I REALLY wish I would have measured myself (thighs, arms, waist) to see the difference in actual numbers so that I have some motivation! BUT - I was told that I'll probably gain muscle for a while and then after that levels off, the fat will come off and my weight will go down. I'm hoping so anyway.
  • I gained the first time I tried 30DS too.  I think its because I wasn't watching my diet. 

    This time I am following 90% (I wish I was following 100% =) )  a low fat diet (Pritikin)..and so far I am down 3lbs! 

  • I have noticed DH is eating a LOT more, so maybe I am, too I just am not paying attention :-) ?My clothes don't seem any baggier, but I didn't measure myself. ?And it's only been a WEEK. ?Ok, pity party over. ?Tracking my food and hope to see some difference this week. ?Thanks ladies!
  • Mine should be arriving in the mail today or tomorrow. I cant wait to start, and you always fluctuate a few pounds so maybe you are retaining water or something, give it until the 30 days- dont weigh yourself again for 3 more weeks.
