Reflux mommas: Taking out the Wedge sleep positioner

When did you do this? DD really likes it. She doesnt roll over yet and sometimes she scoots out of it. Just when I thought shewas ready to be without it she stopped scooting out of it at night. Figures.

I elevated her mattress a little too and that doesnt seem like enough without the positioner. I think she likes having a "pillow" more than anything.

WWYD? I am torn with this! TIA!

Re: Reflux mommas: Taking out the Wedge sleep positioner

  • Babies always sense these things don't they?

I would try going without for a couple of days and then see what happens.  If she has trouble with her reflux or isn't sleeping as well - put it back.

You can also try elevating the whole front end of the crib.  I do that with Olivia.  I used two stacks of big books.   She still ends up near the top of the mattress so it can't bother her too much.

  • We stopped as soon as they began arching their backs and scootching to the top of the incline positioner, so that their heads were hanging off the top. .. DDs didn't seem to notice that it was gone.   I still used the side positioners for a while, though.

  • I've tried before, it didnt work out well. I tried taking it out once she scooted off of it and thought I was making progress and suddenly she was so restless without it and it was keeping me up all night. And then she stopped scootig out of it so I am stuck.....
