Really it is anything your baby is attached to, like a blanket or stuffed animal. I call the blankets with animals attached to them lovie for DD because she loves to play with hers, suck on them, and even sleep with them.
My two year old has one--had it since he was 3 months old...I used to send it to daycare with him. It's a little square blanket (brand is Little Giraffe--$40 at Nordstrom!!) He holds it and rubs it on his face.
He is SOOO attached to it that one time we went to the mall and it must have fallen out of the stroller...we went home, bathed him and went to go to bed (he was about 14 months at the time) and it was GONE! I drove to the mall at 9:30 at night and searched the parking lot. It is crazyyyy!!!
Needless to say, I don't know if I am going to give my 6 week old one...
we can't leave the house without the 2 yo's lovey...or it will be hell to pay!
Re: wtf is a lovey?
Ahhh, now I see. So it's not an actual product called "Lovey".
Really glad I asked here and not at BRU, where I'd have received the "you're the moron customer of the day" look.?
(read it. you know you want to.)
