Where to find peanut oil?

Like, a LOT of peanut oil?  We're having a Super Bowl party and some friends of ours decided we should host a Fry-Off and just fry up a bunch of food.  And before you ask, yes - a few beers were consumed before they came up with this plan.

Anyway, I'm going to need like 2 gallons of peanut oil. Costco doesn't have any and if I buy the small bottles at the grocery store I'm going to go broke.  Any ideas on where I could find big jugs of it?

Smart and Final, Home Depot...

Those are the two I can think of at the top of my head.

I've only seen it in the big containers around Thanksgiving. ?I know sometimes the Raley's near us has it at other times of the year. ?

I was just going to say that Home Depot also carries peanut oil.  Orchard Supply also carries the oil (at least the one out here in MoTown does).

DH said you can get a 3-gallon or 1-gallon bottles at Smart & Final.

I think I've seen 5 gallon jugs at sporting goods stores before.  Sounds good - we may have to bust our fryer out as well!

I'm pretty sure they sell turkey fryers around the holidays.  So they also carry the oil.

Fun idea!  Did you check the grocery store?  Maybe it's a Texas thing, but every grocery store out here sells huge tubs of peanut oil.

Weellll.....fried chicken (of course), onion rings, fries, some weird dino nugget thing our friends are bringing, perhaps corn dogs and some dessert - candy bars or something.

Ugg - I'm getting a stomach ache just thinking about it.  I'm sure I'll be back to my pre-pg weight in NO TIME after this.

Yummy!!  Please take lots of pictures and share!  I'm especially interested in fried candy bars.  Maybe throw in a few twinkies!!

Don't forget fried Oreos! I had them over the summer...oh my, they are delicious!  Just ignore the fact that they're fried and they're Oreos.

I fried oreos dusted powder sugar on them!!!  The middle gets all gooey.  Yum!!!  You could do any "sandwich" type cookie. So good!!!

I've had a fried snickers bar before... you dip it in a batter (similar to a pancake batter) and throw it right in. The chocolate gets melty.

While you're picking up the oil, you might grab a bottle of pepto, too?
