It was always my understanding that you are charged for items like pads, diapers, medicines, etc. Blankets, gowns, and onesies you are not charged for. When one is soiled you put them in the dirty hamper. No one goes through your room after you leave and counts your dirty clothes in the hamper and charges you if you took some. Therefore, taking a few swaddling blankets and onesies is technically stealing.
Am I wrong?

You are correct. That's hospital property that they wash and re-use for all the other mums coming in and having their babies.
Tell whomever it is that if they steal from the hospital, its just another reason for your insurance rates to go up.
i dont see it as stealing at all. maybe you shouldnt, i dunno, but i was always told to take anything that isnt nailed down, lol. but, i havent taken the onsies or gowns either. (1 recieving blanket, each kid)
i fully plan on stashing away extra formula, diapers, wipes ect every time they bring em in.
I was told to ask the nurses what you are allowed to take and what must be left there. Every hospital has different rules.
I'm more concerned with pads and mesh undies than blankets and gowns.
i thought you meant all of the stuff, not just the linens. sorry! oh, and my hospital gave us the recieveing blanket (1 per kid)
