Xrays and AF late- WWYD?

Okay, so I need to have an xray of my kidneys done b/c I have nephrocalcinousis.  I am on day 39 of my cycle...tested a couple of days ago and again this morning, both negative.  Last month AF didn't show until day 45...but I had been quite ill- I had to have lithotripsy done due to "acute unilateral uropathy" ie. I had a kidney stone stuck in the ureter which resulted in a complete blockage of my right kidney.  So I'm sure that threw it off b/c my cycles have always been like clock-work, 32 days.  I can't use hormonal BC and don't want an IUD since we are planning to TTC soon (well, it's been put off now obviously until I get my health issues dealt with) so we usually just avoid my fertile days or use condoms, but with my cycle so out of whack I'm a little confused and worried I could have miscalculated.


I guess my question is, should I wait until I test negative on day 45 or go ahead and get the xray now?   FWIW, I don't "feel" pregnant and I just knew before I even tested with DD, but still, I want to be sure.  Last month I tested a zillion times and I still didn't stop worrying til AF finally showed. 

Sorry for being so longwinded (it's just my nature! lol, and also why I don't post much, I take way too long to type!  Now if I could dictate my posts, lol!)  I could use some insight/reassurance

You should use condoms 100% of the time if you need to seriously try to not be pg so you can get these x-rays done. 

I think I would consult your doctor with what he/she thinks is best.  but..yeah I would probably wait.  I often don't really know I am pg until AF was due, and then it hits me that I have had symptoms the past week.

If you think there's a possibility that you are pregnant, you should wait for a negative test before getting an abdominal X-ray.

I'm a nuclear medicine/x-ray tech.  Honestly, I go back and forth.  If you need it right now, get it.  If you can wait until you test then wait.  I had to work around some of the isotopes I can't use while pg while I was in my 2ww.  My kids are fine.  Good luck.

Yeah, I was not informed of the complications which are necessitating further x-rays until Friday afternoon, so it was a little late at that point.  I thought I was "all better" but so much for that.  Obviously I would have been more careful had I known.

Thank you, mrs_sexy.     I've already tested negative twice, but with this crazy long cycle, I wasn't sure when I should consider the negative test truly accurate.  I'll ask the doc if I should wait til cycle day 45.
