Striped nursery/girls room

When I was pregnant with DD, someone had done a striped nursery that I loved.  The striped appeared to be the same color but the alternate stripe was either glittery or a different texture perhaps.

If this is your nursery, how did you do it?  I have a second chance at DD's room and would love to recreate this.  I can't figure out what to Google to come up with what I saw...  TIA!

Was it MindyandJustin? I just looked and most of her pictures are not working, but I am almost positive that is the one you are thinking of.

You can get that look by:

Painti it all the base color.

Then tape off the stripes, apply another coat of base color along the tape so the next layer of paint won't seep through and ruin your perfect lines.

Apply a glaze alternately to create your stripes.

I think mindyandjustin's had pink and white stripes with a chocolate brown scallop along the top.

This may be too late but we did stripes on 3 of my older DD's walls.  She has one bright pink wall and the other 3 are sort of an antique-ish white (it's not yellowy but not stark white either) and then we did fat horizontal stripes with a glaze that has a little metallic iridescent to it.  It picks up the pink of the big wall and looks great!
