I've hit a lull

I don't know if it's just post holiday slump or what. We had so much going on around the holidays; hitting 20 weeks, getting our U/S we had two appointments between Thanksgiving and New Years, I'm actually starting to look pg and have been feeling baby move since around Thanksgiving. It just seems like I've hit a bit of a lull. It all feels like the same old stuff right now. I'm sure I'll get to 35 weeks and be pining for week 24 when I could still move around, and sleep. But right now it kind of feels like it's a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Maybe it's just me, the same thing happened around this time of year when I was planning my wedding. Anyone else got some post holiday blues?

Re: I've hit a lull

  • I tink it's totally normal.  You don't have anytihng to 'do" right now.... you're just pregnant and waiting.   It is like wedding planning in some ways - you had your vendors, ou bought your dress, you were just waiting for the big day....

Enjoy the lull.  Do things for YOU... take a phtography class, go swimming at the Y, get your nails done, plan a weekend trip.... this is your last time of making things all about YOU for a long time.   So pamper yourself.

  • I agree with Jill. You will have just about zero time to do anything for yourself once baby arrives. Take lots of naps, get your hair done, maybe take a trip just you and DH. I wish we would have done that.

  • Also agree with Jill.

I had coworkers that delivered this fall and I was jealous of how cute and pregnant they were and how much closer they were to getting their hands on their babies.

  • I, too, agree with the others.  And another thing, I MISS where you are right now!  I have big regrets over my 1st pregnancy and how I didnt do my best to enjoy it.  So, try to enjoy every moment because it only lasts so long Smile

  • From my POV, (haven't had him yet) I know exactly where you are coming from. I felt the exact same way. Now I am facing the fact that I am only 11 weeks away from my due date (8 from being full term, YIKES). I can't reach my toes. I am afraid I am going to fall everytime I get out of the bathtub. I can't sleep at night because "Maxwell the Alien Baby" is thrashing around inside me from post dinner until 2 in the morning. I am perpetually tired, like 1st trimester tired. I can feel DS in my ribs and pelvic bone at the same time. Uncomfortable would be how I am describing this part of pregnancy. But I am still loving it. It is hard to wait...really hard. Each appointment, from here until the due date is the same ol' same ol' (except the glucose test, that one's definately unique). My advice would mimic all the others. Just try and relax. The third trimester seems to be going at warp speed and from all the advice I have been given, you will want these precious moments back. That's just my opinion. Hope it helps.

  • I remember feeling that way with both pregnancies.  Then all of sudden you will start to feel paniced that you have so much to do and this baby is coming asap!  Try to enjoy being pregnant.  Before you know it, you'll have a baby in your arms!
