So I know that weaning your body goes a bit whacky, but seriously my hormones are making me nuts. Sometimes it's extreme fatigue that hits me or a headach and this morning I feel nauseous...like beginining of my pregnancy nauseous. I don't believe that I'm pregnant so I am guessing it's hormonal. Anyone else experience anything like this?
Re: Weaning and hormonal shifts
Not with weaning specifically but until recently, I have experienced the same things. These darn hormones are awful, and I thought pregnancy was bad! Poor DH, the pp drop off has not been fun for either of us as I have just not myself. In addition to the other symptoms (especially fatigue and headaches), I get irritated really easily which in itself irritates me because I'm not like that.
I know from others who have gone through it that all that stuff is normal. Everything from what you described above to emotional ups and downs. I am not looking forward to it, that's for sure.
I experienced greater hormonal shifts after weaning than I did post-partum. I don't remember nausea. I just remember mood shifts and overall ickiness.
Post partum, I was scheduled to perform a crying jag at around 7 p.m. each night (seriously, you could set your watch). Post-weaning, it was anyone's call when the rush would hit.
I'd talk to your doc if it is causing you discomfort, though. It is always best to check.
