If you couldn't agree on a name....

we are going through name hell.  There are lots of names I/we like, but they just dont' feel right (is that crazy???)..  names I even liked will Luca just don't "feel" right with this one..  Anyway, did anyone have some kind of voting system?  I have a feeling that her name might be "She"....

no answer only sympathy. we are going through something pretty similar. ray now loves the name that was my #2 for Turtle but I am leaning strongly toward a new name... frustrating...

i had 2 favs for dd that dh and i couldn't agree on which would be the first name and which would be the middle name. we went back and forth for a few months on it.

dd ended up with something completely different about 3 weeks before she was born, which we ended up sticking with.

we kept the name a surprise, just in case we changed our minds, but from the moment we saw her we knew she was a "rory".

very similar here.  Dh want to use our "girl name" for Luca..  I'm just not feeling it..  I really like something else and he's not sold...

We had the same problem.  When I finally thought we had decided on a name, DH whips out one day that he liked something else better (It had been my #1 before, and he shot it down, so I put it out of my head).  So, I had to re-get used to the name again.  Now, i think we finally decided...but it is just now sinking in.  Don't worry - you have some time...i thought we would never agree!

Why don't you try calling her different names on different days, just to see how they "sound"?

We had a hard time with our Baby #2 name.  DH initially shot down all my name suggestions.  It was hard!  We didn't have a voting system, but just ended up going with the name that had the most meaning for us.  We named DD #2 after the mutual friend who set us up on our blind date.

We decided not to use girl name (from the first time around) for this baby, if it is a girl.  Both K and I have gone back and forth so many times.  It is very frustrating and there is no "voting system" . If one of us does not like it, then that name is out.  I think we have finally settled on a girl name, but I am still a little unsure of our boy name.

We could never agree on a girl name so thank goodness we didn't have to face that!  DH already has a boy name picked out for the when/if #2, and I'll be okay with what he chose. We are still at a loss for girls.

We were stuck due to me til just recently. I would say names and talk to her when I was driving to work in the morning and finally I just started using one.

Sarah didn't have a name for 2 days. She wasn't supposed to be here that early!  We had a list of names but hadn't really agreed on any...oddly Sarah wasn't even on our list.  She just looked like a Sarah

DH loved the name Jacob, it wasn't until after he was born I agreed on it.

We had a list of names going in to the hospital, and just waited until she was born.  She was nameless for about the first eight hours of her life.  So now it's funny because we get hospital bills for "baby girl" since that's how they have her in the system.

What worked was having my husband make his list based on our agreed upon rules. I removed any names I did not approve of. Then, we discussed the remainders until the end. We may never have actually agreed, but everything on the list was agreed upon at some point.
