I have to go for the HSG. Dr told me to call on CD1 to the radiology place and set up the appointment. Will I have to take a day off of work? Can DH come with me? I also have to get bloodwork on CD 3. I did CD 21 bloodwork this cycle for progesterone and it came back normal and I that I ovulated.
thanks for the info

Re: HSG questions
Will I have to take a day off of work?
most women don't
Can DH come with me?
if he wants to, i don't know why he would
I did mine in the morning and went to work after. And went by myself - it isn't that long and nothing DH could relaly do, but it's up to the 2 of you if you want him to come. Or even if your office will allow him in with you.
Good luck!

I went back to work and my husband did not come with me....I had a little cramping but took 800mg Motrin 30 min before the procedure.
Good luck to you!
You won't have to take the day off...I did though.
Yes you're DH can go with you but not into the room. Mine came with me and drove me home. We did all major appts. together.
Be sure to take 800 mg of ibuprofen 45-60 minutes before the procedure. My ob recommended it and it did help. Also bring your own panty liner, or they will give you a big thick pad.
GL!
Hi,
I had my HSG done a couple of weeks ago and I was so glad DH came with me. I took 4 advil (800 mg) an hour before to help with the cramping. My DH was allowed to come with me into the room and he held my hand throughout the procedure. They also couldn't get the catheter in me from scar tissue from a previous LEEP procedure, so I was glad he was there to calm me down.
I was fine to drive afterwards, but had a bunch of cramping and bloated feeling that night.
Good luck!
You should be fine to go to work when you are done.
DH did come with me and he did go back in the room with me for the actual procedure. I was glad he was there. It took longer and was more painful than it should have been and having the support was nice.

I took the whole day off from work but it turns out I would've been fine to go back to work afterwards. DH went with me but didn't go into the room with me, I don't know if he would've been allowed or not, I didn't ask.
The ibuprofen is definitely a good idea, I think it helped me not to get crampy during/afterwards. My HSG went very smoothly and didn't hurt at all and I didn't have much cramping to speak of afterwards. Good luck!
