veggie ?

This may be a really stupid question, but when can you give a baby a raw veggie (like a carrot.)  Since switching to milk, I'm worried that my guys aren't getting all the vitamins they got from the formula and I thought it would be a good snack

  • If it is washed properly and he will eat it you can.  Check out this website: www.wholesomebabyfood.com is a great resource for this sort of concerns.

  • It's a great snack but I don't know that I would give him a raw one until he's got some molars and can chew it properly. ?Maybe parboil them and let it cool first??

I keep veggie crackers and things on hand for snacking. ?Those are much easier for my daughter to chew. ??

  • DD has all of her first year molars, but I wouldn't feel comfortable giving her raw carrots as a snack. I think they're still a choking hazard at this age.

DD does like steamed baby carrots as well as peas and steamed broccoli, but mostly I give her fruit for snacks. I also try to make sure she has a fruit or vegetable with every meal.

I also still give her the vitamin drops. Our pedi said she'll need them until she's 4.
