3 yr old has constant boner

For the last few days, he's had a boner pretty much all the time. He has his hands down his pants trying to push it down and tells me "mommy my pee pee won't push down." Is this normal?

From what I've heard from friends, it's normal.  We were discussing it at my moms group one day and one story was her son couldn't get it to stay down and was mortified.  Another said her son climbed in a chair in a restaurant, pulled his pants down and announced "Look what I did!" because apparently he was proud of his boner.  My 15 month old gets them all the time and when I wipe him, he giggles.

My 3 yrs old just started doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago.  At first we thought it was b/c he was getting diaper rash but then we figured out it was b/c of his boners.    I'm hoping it's a normal toddler thing too:-)
