we are going to have DS 1st birthday party, but it is going to be all adults. (2kids). any ideas? I was thinking candy bars??? but really I don't know.
we're doing pink cupcakes in clear boxes w/pink ribbon & tags. for the kids we're doing things to keep them busy during the party -- stickers, notebooks & markers. & a glow in the dark slinky!
We didn't do favors at all for DD's first birthday, because the only other kid there was my (then) eight month old nephew.
For her second birthday, since we're having an apple picking party and picnic, we're thinking of doing either apple flavored Jelly Bellies in paper bags with stickers that say "You've been picked!" or slices of apple spice bread in boxes tied with apple-hued ribbons. We figured that these would be good favors for everyone. We'll also probably do small "goodie bags" for the kids who will be there, with things to keep them busy (coloring books and crayons, puzzle, stickers, small toy, etc), since a bunch of DH's cousins have kids DD's age.
We only had a few children - actually only 1 Paige's age - so I made candy bars for everyone. They weren't that expensive. I created the candy bar wrappers from uprintinvitations.com and then I printed them out on a color printer. And then I waited till candy bars were on sale and bought them then. I thought they turned out really cute and everyone like them. Here is a pic of the front and back.
I ordered customized M&Ms with DS's picture and a few sayings on them. I put them in babyfood jars wrapped with toule and ribbon and put one at each place setting for the adults and the 2 kids in attendance.?

We had just gotten back his 1-year photos, so at the party we gave them out - and you could take this further and get them matted and/or framed for not much money, if you feel the need. We would have given out the photos anyway, so this was a great way to do it.
