How much spit up is normal?

Makenna just started spitting up in the last few days.  It has only been about once a day that she will spit up, but today she has done it three times already.

She just projectile spit up during breastfeeding and it was a ton!  It even came out her nose :(  Poor baby!

Is she just getting too much to eat, Do I need to burp more, or could it be a sign of reflux?  She doesn't seem like she is uncomfortable or in any pain....

  • Sounds pretty normal to me, Cruz would get me good sometimes, I think I went through just as many jammies as he did!  If she doesn't seem uncomfortable then I'm going to assume she just overate or had a big bubble.  My favorite is when your all dressed to go somewhere and they spit up all over you and now your back to changing both of you all over again!

  • Isabelle spits up little amounts all throughout the day and about once a day does a giant one. She's never upset and usually smiles and laughs afterward. I asked my ped and she told me its very normal. I'm looking forward to the day that she doesn't do it at all anymore!

  • Jacob was a spitter too! I asked the Dr about it and he said that as long as they are
    gaining weight
not crying when they spit up

they are fine. He also said that although it sometimes seems like a lot, its usually just a few tablespoons and thats nothing compared to the amount they are eating when they are nursing...

  • Tillman never had discomfort, but he had reflux.  He would spit up a ton at almost every feeding.  I think if she doesn't do a ton each time or regulary, and there is no indication of discomfort, I would guess it's not reflux.  There was no doubt Tillman had reflux, he didn't spit up, he barfed, regularly.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
