So all the posts about identicals vs fraternals have me thinking about my twin sister and I. We aren't sure which we are, I've always thought fraternal, but we've never had the tests. The most obvious genetic things like eye color are the same, but then again my older sister has blue eyes too, so who knows. When my sister and I talk about it we end up in random discussions about if dimples are genetic or not and stuff like that.
Then I was thinking that whenever anyone posts on here and wonders if their twins are identical or fraternal and then tests, the consensus on the board after looking at the pictures seems to match the test results. So I figured I would post pictures, and get you guys to tell me what you think. Excuse the fact that we are both holding at least one baby, I just don't have any easy to access pictures that don't have the girls in them.
This is my twin sister:

Re: Random: what do you think? identical or fraternal
I think you need to do a test!! It's hard to tell from pictures, but you really do look a lot alike.
Your face features are very similar. The hair differences is throwing me off a little bit. But you do look alike. For my sister and I, whenever we are out in public, we still get, "are you twins?" I guess that's a sure sign that we still really look alike. Do you and your sister get asked that often?
I'll have to scan some childhood pics.
My sister doesn't have twins, she is holding Sarah and Madeline.

your twins are fraternal, right? If so- that would make you guys more likely fraternal (assuming you did not get pg with IF assistance but heredity alone).
it's so hard to tell. I know some IDs that do not look 100% alike... and some fraternals that do. I know siblings 2 years apart in age that look ID if it wasn't for size difference
get tested- what fun to know!
I think ID.
If only because there are other moms in my multiples group who are ID twins who each went on to have their own fraternal twins (each). How weird is that?
We are both O+, but both our parents are O+ so that's the only blood type any of their kids could have is O+.
Definitely get tested!!!
I'm an identical twin too, and it would drive me crazy not to know by this point in my life.
By the way, how fun is it to have twins when you're a twin yourself? I'm really looking forward to knowing the special bond that they have and sharing that experience. I'm having girls, too!
