Would you go to the zoo on a 40 degree day?

I can't decide.  I took liam to a bounce place this morning and we didn't enjoy it.  I am thinking about letting him walk around the zoo this afternoon for a while.  We haven't been all winter.  He refuses mittens or gloves.  That is my main concern.  Would you go?

  • I guess it depends if 40 is "warm" for your area in this time of year. I wouldn't go, but we live in AZ. But when I lived in MI, I opened the windows in my car on 40 degree days. If you're sure he'll be running around, I think it'd be fine.

  • I would - 40 seems warm to me!

DS is anti-glove and mitten, as well. We FINALLY found a pair of tiny knit gloves he will wear (but it takes 10 mintes just to get them on). If he still woulnd't wear them I would bring him to the zoo in the stroller - he is good about putting his hands under the stroller fleece when he is cold.

  • Probably not. What about a park instead? Then it's free and you don't have to trek around the zoo.

  • Probably not, but I think 40 is cold, and I hate to be cold.
  • I would.  I now live in FL, but I went a lot in colder weather than that when I lived in WI.  I just bundled the kids up (that I was a nanny for) and off we went.  There were a lot of indoor exhibits spread throughout the zoo, so we could easily go in to warm up for a bit.

  • I would. Just bundle him up...as best you can ;)...and have fun!!
  • We do but we mostly stay in the enclosed buildings like the monkeys, fish and birds.
