EF way to clean DS's humidifier

The instruction booklet says to clean the tank with a bleach solution every 4 days. Umm, would vinegar be a good way to clean it?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't even have bleach in this house any more!

Borax and hot water. This is actually listed as a "use" for borax on the box.
