yes on the california rolls - there's nothing raw in there that you can't eat and as far as shrimp tempura . . . your own discretion, i guess. i was told not to eat ANY shellfish and will try my best to stay away from it, but you just made me VERY hungry for it. haha!
I eat spicy tuna rolls all the time and I am not concerned (the raw kind). As for any shell fish I think thats a little crazy. I am not saying that I am going out to eat raw oysters- although I would love to, but I would say don't stress over what you can't eat. My husband is a chef though so I value his opinion as well as my docs.
Yep..I have been eating them. I was not told at all to stay away from shellfish. They did give me a guide to mercury levels. SHrimp and crab are at the bottom.

I think they're absolutely fine since there's nothing raw in them.
My doctor, however, told me I shouldn't eat any sushi at all because even the cooked stuff would be cut in the same place and with the same knife as the raw sushi, so I could get bacteria that way.
I'm avoiding it for now, but later on I may have cooked sushi!

I was told the same thing!

I read that they are only concerned about shellfish if you have a family history of shellfish allergy...trust me I have been eating shrimp quite a bit and so far so good!
I ate sushi through both of my previous pregnancies, only the cooked or vegetarian rolls. I had some problems digesting shellfish in my first trimester, but no other issues.
